Lord of the Flies chapter 8 gapfill exercise

After Jack and RALPH come back, PIGGY can hardly believe that there really is a BEAST up in the MOUNTAIN. Jack meanly talls PIGGY to go check for himself, hoping he will get hurt. RALPH explains to PIGGY that no one could fight the BEAST. He says that even Jack would hide if the beast came after them. RALPH goes on to say that the hunters are nothing but boys with STICKS and that they are no good against the BEAST.

JACK is insulted and takes the CONCH and calls a meeting. He first tells the boys that they did see the BEAST. Then he tells them that RALPH thinks the hunters are cowards because they ran away from the boar and the BEAST. And third, he tells the boys that RALPH says things like PIGGY; therefore, he isn't a proper CHIEF. JACK then calls for a vote to see who thinks RALPH shouldn't be chief. No one openly votes against Ralph. This hurts JACK, and he says that he is not longer going to PLAY any longer.

After JACK runs from the platform, Ralph and the rest behind sit depressed. SIMON stands and suggests that they climb the MOUNTAIN and face the BEAST. The group basically ignores SIMON, and PIGGY suggests what Ralph should suggest: keep the FIRE going. PIGGY says that they can keep the fire on the BEACH so that they don't have to go up the mountain.

After they build a FIRE, Ralph notices that Maurice, Bill, and ROGER are gone. PIGGY says that they probably ran off with Jack when no one was looking. SIMON aslo is missing, but he snuck off to his secret place in the forest.

JACK declares himself CHEIF and says that they should hunt. They come upon a sow nursing her piglets. They decide to kill the helpless SOW. After JACK cuts the pig's throat, he laughs as he flicks the BLOOD from his palm. He then wipes a bunch of the BLOOD on MAURICE'S checks. After he cleans the pig's GUTS out, he says that they will raid the BEACH for their fire. Before going they sharpen a stick and post the pig's HEAD. This is meant as a gift for the BEAST.

When JACK and his tribe raid the beach for fire, Jack is stark naked except for his belt and PAINT. He invites the boys on the beach, including RALPH, to have some meat at their feast. This is very tempting to the boys.

SIMON comes out of his secret place and sees the pig's HEAD, which is referred to as the Lord of the Flies. He hallucinates a conversation with the head, which tells him that he is really the Beast. After the pig's HEAD threatens to kill SIMON, he FAINTS.

lord of the flies chapter 3 gap worksheet

JACK is crouched down like an SPRINTER. He is half-naked and trying to hunt a PIG. After he is unable to kill a PIG, he comes out of the dark FOREST and sees Ralph and SIMON building NUTS for shelter. He asks for some STICKS, which SIMON tells him is by the tree.

RALPH is disappointed in the way the LITTLEUNS, or children, do not help him build the HUT. PIGGY suggests telling them off, but RALPH shows his disappiontment with meetings. He says they could have one, and they would decide to do something like build a submarine, but fice minutes later everyone would be off playing and not helping. When RALPH inplies that JACK is also guilty of leaving responsibility, Jack argues that they all need MEAT. Ralph antagonizes JACK by saying that Jack has yet to KILL anything.

RALPH tries to argue that SHELTERS are needed in case of rain. But also they need shelter to create a sense of home. The children are still afraid of the BEASTY, or the snake-thing, and shelter might help calm that fear.

JACK argues that the most important thing is to get MEAT. Jack has a hard time remembering what that word means. He says that he would prefer to catch a PIG first.

While RALPH is telling JACK to make sure his hunters remember to keep the FIRE going, SIMON realizes where the LITTLEUNS must be hiding from the hot sun. This angers RALPH because the way JACK screamed when he made this discovery made RALPH think Jack saw a SHIP. After they are done talking, they notice that PIGGY is gone. They assume that he is taking a BATH. But he is not in the bathing pool; rather, he has escaped to a secret place in the forest

lord of the flies chaper 1 gap work sheet

The story begins with the boy with fair HAIR climbing down the rocks. A voice behind him calls out for him to wait. This voice comes from a fat boy who wears SPECTICALLS or glasses. The first boy introduces him self as RALPH and the second boy introduces himself as PIGGY.

The two boys are on an ISLAND with no ADULT because their PLANE was shot down. Ralph, who is 12 years old, stands on his HEAD because he is happy to discover that there are no grownups on the island PIGGY thinks that the pilot will be back to get the boys, but RALPH tells him that he saw the part of the plane with the pilot in flames. He continues to tell PIGGY that the passenger part of the plane was carried out to sea by a storm. Piggy assumes that there must be other boys on the island. Ralph seems not to pay too much attention to Piggy and runs through the jungle. Piggy says that he shounldn't run on account of his ASTHMA.

RALPH gets naked and goes for a swim in the pool. PIGGY does not go because he cannot swim; he wasn't allowed to because of his ASTHMA. Ralph says he learned how because his dad is in the NAVY Piggy's father is dead, and he was living with his AUNT. He tells Piggy that his father will come and rescue them once he gets some time off. Piggy doesn't think this is possible becuase the pilot had told them that there was an atom BOND and the people at the airport were all DEAD.

After Ralph's swim, the two boys come across a CONCH, a shell that can be used like a trumpet to call any other boys on the island. The CONCH was cream color with a bit of fading pink thoughout the shell. PIGGY instructs RALPH to push air from his diaphragm in order to get enough air to blow the CONCH. Aftrer RALPH gets the conch to sound, boys start gathering in front of Ralph and Piggy.

Many boys come, but the last group of bouys is a choir. Each member wears a black CAP with a SILVER badge on it. Their entire bodies are covered by a BLACK cloak, which 'bore a silver BADGE on the LEFT breast.' The boy who is in charge of this group wears a GOLD badge on his cap. This boy introduces himself by his last name --MERRIDED-- although his first name is JACK.

After everyone laughs at PIGGY because of his name and after everyone introduces themselves, Ralph suggest that they decide on a CHIEF to maek decisions. JACK says that he should be chief because he is the head boy of the CHIOR and he can sing a C sharp. Roger suggests that all the boys vote to see who should be chief. The boys vote PEIFT to be chief. Ralph offers JACK control of the chior, and Jack decides that the choir will be HUNTERS.

Ralph, Jack, and SIMON go on an exploration to decide that they are indeed on an ____. On their way back from the exploration, they find a PIGLET stuck in the creepers. JACK raises his KNIFE to kill it, but he hesitates and it gets away. He promises himself that the next time he has the chance to KILL there will be no mercy.

lord of the flies: chapter 7

SIMON realizes that RALPH is thinking about home. He tells RALPH that he knows that he well make it back all right. RALPH thinks SIMON is batty, or crazy, and asks him sarcastically if he has a SHIP in his pocket.

On their way to the MOUNTAIN, the boys hunt for PIG. Ralph gets his first experience at hunting, and he enjoys it. He is able to get his SPEAR into the pig. JACK is injured slightly by the boar because he waited too long to put his spear into him. SIMON tells JACK to suck on the wound to make it better.

After this the boys get excited and start to pretend they are hunting a PIG. They use ROBERT as the PIG. the boys get too involved and Robert ends up getting HUNT. JACK and Ralph play it off as if it were nothing but a game. RALPH says that he once got badly hurt while playing FOOTBALL, or rugby. JACK says next time they should have a LITTLEUN play the pig.

It is getting late, and RALPH still wants to make it to the MOUNTAIN to restart the FIRE.MAURICE suggests that they should get back to Piggy. SIMON volunteers to go alone to Piggy and tell him that the rest won't be back until later. JACK and Ralph keep pushing each other to go up the MOUNTAIN in the dark. SAM, Eric, and the rest of the boys all leave Jack, Ralph, and ROGER by themselves. They are not scared, they say, but rather tired.

JACK goes up the mountain alone after RALPH implied that he was too scared to do so. He later comes down saying he saw something. ROGER scares the two of them go up to have a look and they see the dead man with the PARACHUTE. The three of them run, leaving their STICKS on the mountain.

200 Word Essay
I think that people murder other people is because of the power they think they have. A person killing another person is a crime and is illegal in the United States. Killings can never be justified because the person that got killed will never get redemption or anything. When a person gets killed it is sad because somebody’s life was just taken away. When the eight people got killed in New Hope Plantation they will never be justified because they are all gone because of somebody’s stupid actions. When somebody dies it is different then some body getting killed because it was there time to go and when n you kill somebody you are taking there life for no reason. No killing a person can never be justified because they are dead and not with the people that love them. Society could help murders from not happening by people working together and getting along. People could keep there temper down and keep calm there would be a lot less murders in this world. We could bring down the murder rate by making people register there guns and bullets with the government so they could keep track of them and they would know who has what things.

antwone fisher dq

DQ’s for Antwone Fisher

Antwone gets into a lot of fights. Do you think that he fights because people have made him angry, or is he angry already?

I think Antwone gets into fights because people make him angry and he is already angry at the same time.

When Antwone first goes to see the therapist, he is very vague with information about his background. Why would he not just come out with all of his history? Is he hiding something? How is Antwone different or the same as Melinda Sordino in Speak?

Antwone would not tell the therapist anything of his past for the first time because it hurt him so much to say and think of it Antwone is hiding his past because he doesnt want to think about it. I think Antwone is kind of the same as Melinda because they both were forced to do something that they didnt want to and just scared.

Why does Antwone say that he should just go to the brig? How would that be easier for him then the alternative that he is given?

This alternative would not be easier for Antwone because he would sit there and not be able to express himself and get what he has in his mind out

When his shipmates are talking about going home for the holiday, Antwone ignores the question. Why?

I think Antwone wanted to ignore the question because he doesnt have or doesnt know if he has a family

During the Thanksgiving dinner at the doctor’s house, Antwone is put into an awkward situation when the doctor’s father asks him questions. Why was it awkward for him?

Antwone has never have has had questions this personal and was embarrassed that he couldnt answered them

The doctor at one point says that forgiveness is freeing yourself. Do you agree? Talk about Antwone and Melinda in terms of forgiving themselves. What would they be forgiving themselves for? Why?

Antwone and Melinda I think would be forgiving themselves because they were the ones that kept the secret that they held for so long and all it did was hurt them

is murder ever justifiable

What motivates people to murder? when people are sad or angry. Sometimes drugs may do that to certain people. Is murder ever justifiable? heak no... When you kill someone you are hurting the family and friends of those also. Why or why not and when? Because its cruel and mean and very sad. What should society do to help bring down the murder rate? knock out drugs and violence. How should society educate and mediate murderers in society to prevent and reduce murders? Have like weekly meetings or something to just ease their mind something that will calm them down. When you murder someone you take another persons life. You take a familys child or realated one. If someone ever murders someone they deserve to die themself. When you take a persons life you are not only hurting that person but your hurting there family and friends as well. You should never murder anyone. Murderers do not deserve a chance at life. They deserve to all just die and vanish away. People can be so cruel and unconciderate that things just get out of control and its rediculouse. This is my thought on murder cases.....

Abusive Relationships

I've had no experiences in abusive relationships. But I know a few who have. I would hate to be one the weird teens to get abused. But me personally if I was in a abusive relationship I would be the abuser.
Females in a abusive relationship take it and blame it on themselves for no reason. They think their not doing something rightmost of the time. A few signs i noticed would be cuts off friends(me), spends alot of time alone, avoids activities and friendly get togethers, some don't even come in the cafeteria. Some say I love you to their partner so much that they constantly start saying I Love You to people they barley talk to.
People who don't know how to get out of abusive relationships will probley end up dead. Alot try to runaway from the situation and become homeless. So to me the best thing to do would be tell someone you know that can help. someone who will get you out the situation. And some words of wisdom are there's nothing wrong with opening up never be afraid. And never loose contact with those who care.

Signs of Abusive Relationships

I have not been in an abusive relationship so I cant speak for thoes who have but when I researched it online this is what I found. An abusive relationship can include slapping, punching and etc. In a abusive relationship the main reason the abuser feels the need to abuse the victum is for the power and to feel like they are worth something. The abuser thinks that just because he is abusing the victum he has a special power. The abuser is probably on drugs or is an alchoholic. I know of some people that have been in a abusive relationship. My opinion on abusive relationships is I think that anyone who has abused someone else should be punished in some sort of way. I do not apprechiate someone hurting anyone else. How would they feel if some one was to abuse them. They probably would not like it. I really dont know what else to say so this is my thought of abusive relationships
